NW 57th Avenue Reconstruction Grouping

This project grouping consisted of urban reconstruction and widening of Red Road from W 53rd St to North of W 84th St (2 miles) and a Joint Participation Agreement with MDWASD for the installation of over 10,000 lf of 54” WM. The scope of work for included: 800 lf of steel sheet piled bulkhead wall, 2100 lf of pile and panel bulkhead wall, road reconstruction, installation of geogrid, 25 new signals, 380 drainage structures, 15,000 lf of drainage pipe, 5,700 lf of twin 72 inch culvert, and the installation of 10,400 lf of 54” Bar Wrapped Concrete Cylinder Pipe (BWCCP) and associated structures. This project included a Cost Savings Initiative (CSI) for switching steel sheet pile walls to pile and panel walls for a total savings of $840,000 to the Project. Some key responsibilities included spearheading a robust public involvement campaign with local stake holders and political figures and conducting contractor workshops to minimize rework and efficiently group multiphase work into a single phase.
